DONATIONS
Project Indochina receives no government funding and relies on corporate, business and private donations to fund its aid operations.
Operating costs are kept to an absolute minimum. Australian staff are not remunerated and pay their own international travel and most living expenses. Volunteers from the host country and overseas are used extensively. Because operating costs, aid expenditure and revenues are all variable, it is not possible to forecast a constant a constant ratio of aid expenditure to revenue. Project Indochina has historically spent well in excess of 80% of revenue on direct aid. In other words:
more than 80 cents of every dollar donated to Project Indochina is spent where the donor intended it to be spent.......on aid.........not on operating costs.
The long term objective of Project Indochina is to further improve this ratio and limit operating costs to a maximum 10% of revenue.
